GUSTAV MAHLER Symphony No. 2 in C minor – “Resurrection”
Due to a bereavement in her immediate family, Bernarda Fink has had to cancel her concert appearances on 28 and 29 July in Mahler’s Second Symphony with Andris Nelsons and the Vienna Philharmonic. The Salzburg Festival is very pleased to announce that Ekaterina Gubanova will step in as the alto soloist in Mahler’s ‘Resurrection’ Symphony. Ekaterina Gubanova has appeared regularly at the Salzburg Festival, both in concert and on the operatic stage, since 2007. Most recently, she sang the role of Brangäne in a 2014 concert performance of the second act from Tristan, with Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
