SERIES "Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award"
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
The “Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award” is an initiative of Nestlé and the Salzburg Festival. In the festival season 2014, this award – endowed with € 15,000 – will be granted to a young conductor for the fifth time. Among all the applicants, the jury will select three final candidates who will be given the opportunity to conduct concerts in Salzburg with the Camerata Salzburg, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Symphonieorchester Vorarlberg on February 28, March 1 and 2, 2014. Young international soloists will also be presented at these concerts.Afterwards, the winner will be selected by a renowned jury chaired by Ingo Metzmacher. In its deliberations, the jury will pay special attention to the interpretation of contemporary works – next to the Classical and Romantic repertoire. Tickets for the Award Concert Weekend and the Award Winner’s Concert will be available through the Salzburg Festival Ticket Office.
