In this second ritual of the Sufi order Al-Tariqa al-Gazoulia, the sounds of Sufi chants will inspire the Salzburg star violinist Frank Stadler to takassim improvisations, combining this spiritual music with pieces like Bach’s Ciaccona from the Partita in D Minor. In oriental music, the term takassim refers to soloistic improvisations with an instrument able to produce all nine subtle partial tones which lie between the whole notes in Turkish music.
