ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
For the first time since 2007, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta returns to the Festival: its offerings include Bruckner’s splendid Te Deum and the first performance of Ernest Bloch’s Avodath Hakodesh at the Salzburg Festival – works that are beholden to the Christian and Jewish liturgy, but which still have the power to move listeners, beyond any predetermined faith.
