Panoply of Power

( 30 Jan 2017 ) Power comes in many guises. Sometimes it assumes the shape of the sublime, sometimes the face of destruction. Sometimes it comes as a repressive force, sometimes it brings emancipation. While in dramatic texts, it often leads to the apotheosis of the hero and heroine, it can just as easily let them fall into an abyss. In all cases, however, our attention is drawn to the fact that something has disturbed the ordinary course of events.

Number of Youth Subscriptions Doubled

( 18 Apr 2017 ) Due to high demand, the Salzburg Festival will double the number of its youth subscriptions in 2017. Altogether, 6,000 tickets for operas, dramas and concerts will be reserved for young people up to the age of 26 (i.e. born after June 30, 1990) with discounts of up to 90%.
