Hyunjai Lee*

Korean tenor Hyunjai Lee studied at the Korea National University of Arts and has already been acclaimed in roles such as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and Ruiz (Il trovatore) at the Korean National Opera in the Seoul Arts Centre. He has also been heard in Seoul as Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Ernesto (Don Pasquale).

Hyunjai Lee has won prizes in a whole series of national and international competitions, including a third prize in the 2016 Competizione dell’Opera at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, a third prize in the Korean National Opera’s Singing Competition and a first prize in the Daegu Singing Competition.

From the start of the 2018/19 season Hyunjai Lee will be a member of the OperAvenir Opera Studio of the Basel Theatre.

As a participant in the 2018 Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project Hyunjai Lee is singing Tamino in The Magic Flute for Children.
