ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

In his highly acclaimed book Die AbstiegsgesellschaftÜber das Aufbegehren in der regressiven Moderne (Society in Decline – Concerning Protest in a Regressive Modern Age) economist and sociologist Oliver Nachtwey analyses the causes of the rupture between promises of upward social mobility and actual conditions.

Klaus Kastberger, professor of modern German literature at the Franz-Nabl-Institute at the University of Graz and director of the Literaturhaus in Graz, is one of the foremost Austrian Germanists and literary critics; he is also the editor of the new historical-critical edition of the works of Ödön von Horváth.
