One of the world’s most beloved operas has now been adapted for children and the entire family:
The story of the inventive, witty and charming ‘Barber of Seville’ – also known as Figaro – whose ingenious tricks help his friend Almaviva liberate his beloved Rosina, is not only the ‘prequel’ to The Marriage of Figaro, but also a milestone in opera history.
Education is first and foremost at Salzburg’s opera for children, in two ways: members of the Young Singers Project perform arias and ensembles from Rossini’s masterwork, interspersed with dialogues custom-written for this occasion.
The young audience is introduced cheerfully to the world of opera, learning incidentally how such a ‘total work of art’ is created, and experiences Rossini’s virtuoso melodies and one of the most turbulent stories in all of opera literature.
Age: from ca. 4 upwards
Language: German
Duration: ca. 75 minutes
Admission € 36,-
Children & Youths € 21,-
Always before the performances we offer introductory workshops at 01:30 pm.
