SERIES "Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award"
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award The “Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award” is an initiative of Nestlé and the Salzburg Festival. At the same time, the creation of the “Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award” represents another project in the long and intensive partnership between Nestlé and the Salzburg Festival and its youth programmes. In the festival season 2013, this award – endowed with € 15,000 – will be granted to a young conductor for the fourth time. Among all the applicants, the jury will select three final candidates who will be given the opportunity to conduct concerts in Salzburg with the Camerata Salzburg, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester on May 10, 11 and 12, 2013. Afterwards, the winner will be selected by a renowned jury chaired by Ingo Metzmacher. In its deliberations, the jury will pay special attention to the interpretation of contemporary works – next to the Classical and Romantic repertoire. Young international soloists will also be presented at these concerts.
