ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Just like his works for the Festival, Max Reinhardt’s Rococo palace Leopoldskron became a grand production. In the 90th anniversary year of the Festival, its gates will open again and invite the visitors to the park and a very special “midsummer night’s dream”. Between pavilions and under old trees, a picnic on the green awaits the audience, followed by Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Short Cuts as performed by acting students of Salzburg’s Mozarteum. When dusk falls, Reinhardt’s famous 1935 Hollywood version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be shown in its original version by the shore of the pond. These evenings in the park offer 150 visitors the rare opportunity to experience the atmosphere which gave this place such an incomparable aura until Reinhardt’s emigration.
The ticket price includes a picnic. Parking spaces will be offered near the Leopoldskron Palace, and there will be a shuttle bus from Reichenhaller Strasse leaving at 6:30 p.m. Sturdy shoes are recommended, just as warm clothing for the evenings.
