The Italian violinist Giuliano Carmignola is one of the most famous baroque violin soloists today. With his equally inspiring partners he interprets sonatas composed by masters of the Italian Baroque. Porpora is considered one of the most important composers of the Neapolitan school. Just like Geminiani, Nicola Matteis was a brilliant violinist; Naples-born Scarlatti, on the other hand, made decisive contributions to the development of virtuoso harpsichord playing.
