Classical
music and language in an extraordinary combination and highest quality – that is
how Edition SEE-IGEL (www.see-igel.de) has been presenting stories and
fairy-tales for children aged 6 and up for the past few years. The touching and
funny texts are accompanied by and
combined with music in order to open up a
new level of narration, creating a new and vivacious combination of music and
language.
For the
first time, productions by the Edition SEE-IGEL will be realized live at the
Salzburg Festival by students at the Mozarteum University and the well-known
and popular actress Sunnyi Melles, who will bring the texts and figures to life
with her voice.
The program
features two productions: Jorinde und
Joringel, based on the Brothers Grimm – the beautiful fairy-tale is about
the special power of love to conquer all evil powers; as well as Schmetterlingsküsschen [Butterfly
Kisses], a story by Ute Kleeberg: sometimes friendship comes to us like a
butterfly, delicately and cautiously – as in the case of Emilie, who cannot
walk, and Emil, the best football player in his children’s group.
After the
concert, the children will have the time and opportunity to ask questions and
to talk to the performers.
